One notable feature of the M2M is its sharp cornered extended tang, which can be used to generate sparks when scraped against a fire striker steel rod. This method is safer for users as the knife can be held securely in the sheath, reducing the risk of slipping.

The leather sheath has also been upgraded, with a double seam for increased strength and flexibility. There are two removable leather straps with screws, allowing for both vertical and horizontal carry options on M.O.L.L.E. systems.
